Fishing & Floating

It’s April and taxes are due soon. This usually calls for capital S. T. R. E. S. S.

What if you switched it up this year and instead of seeing April 18th as a looming monster you see it as permission to reward yourself for a job well done. Schedule a fishing or floating trip and cross it off your bucket list.

One of the many beautiful things about Eureka Springs, Arkansas is easy to access to several bodies of water. No matter what type of water activity you find relaxing, we have the resources to accommodate.

Fishing

  • Beaver Lake: This 28,370-acre lake is surrounded by paved access roads to 12 developed parks. Boat launching ramps are found throughout the parks. A prime place to start looking for striper bass this spring is where the White River and War Eagle join.
  • Table Rock Lake: This body of water was designed and built and is now operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Full-service marinas and fishing guides are plentiful. A short drive from Eureka Springs, you will find good fishing for largemouth bass, striped bass, white bass, and walleye.

Check out marinas, boat docks, and guide services.

Floating

  • Kings River: Over 90-miles of free-flowing river empties into Table Rock Lake. Float past massive rock bluffs, shady banks, and sloping gravel bars on top of crystal clear water. This is no joke! If you do not own the correct equipment, do not worry, Kings River Outfitters can take care of all your needs. Just make sure to call ahead for a reservation.
  • Buffalo River: Named American’s first national river in 1972, this 135-mile-long-free-flowing river features both swift and placid stretches. Limestone bluffs and woodlands also surround it. The Buffalo Outdoor Center is available to help with all your floating needs.

With your stress level greatly reduced and another checkmark on your bucket list, stop by Eureka Springs to enjoy a hearty meal and relaxing accommodations. You can rest assured that Tax Day is behind you.
