POKEY LAFARGE & HOT CLUB OF COWTOWN
The nation’s oldest continuously running folk festival is back this year with a folk faire, a “Barefoot Ball,” and, of course, a ton of excellent folk music!
Musician, storyteller, and narrator of the American experience, Pokey LaFarge, will be the headline act of the 75th Annual Original Ozark Folk Festival at the historic Eureka Springs City Auditorium on Saturday, November 12th. The opening act will be special guests, Hot Club of Cowtown.
Pokey LaFarge’s music style is excitingly unique: a cross between old-fashioned blues, vintage country, and retro rock ‘n roll. At times LaFarge’s sound is even reminiscent of the ragtime swing you might have heard through a phonograph in the 1920s.
The acclaimed trio, Hot Club of Cowtown, specializes in a joyful fusion of traditional western music and mid-century gypsy jazz, with a signature sound all their own. The Austin-based band has grown to be the most globe-trotting, hardest-swinging Western swing trio on the planet.
