Ozark Mountain Music Festival January 19-22, 2017
Are you an Americana enthusiast? Or maybe you are simply looking for an exciting new musical encounter. Look no further, the Ozark Mountain Music Festival located in Eureka Springs, AR has it all.
11 bands. 4 days. 1 historic location.
Much like the melting pot that is America, Americana music is a mix the Americana Music Association (AMA) defines as incorporating “elements of various American roots music styles, including country, roots-rock, folk, bluegrass, R&B and blues, resulting in a distinctive roots-oriented sound that lives in a world apart from the pure forms of the genres upon which it may draw.”
Polished radio formats of mainstream music in the 1990’s pushed the creation of the term ‘Americana’. People could turn on the radio and listen to rock or country genres, but these categories didn’t quite capture the folksy, bluegrass feel listeners were looking for.
Most find it hard to choose the words necessary to capture the breadth of such a diverse genre; however, there is one general consensus…you know it when you hear it.
